"Late Pursuit" - Snoqualmie Pass High Country Series.

The eagles included in the Mt. Catherine and Olallie Meadow paintings were added at a later date. I decided to treat them as separate works just in case I chose to feature them on their own. Like most of my digital paintings, both these eagles started out as pencil sketches. In Photoshop I painted them much larger than necessary and had great fun with the face and eye details.

"Late Pursuit" ended up using only the head of the Olallie eagle and a piece of the mountain for the background. To give it more interest, I altered the lighting and created deep shadows to give the impression of dusk.
